This is going to sound weird, but earlier, I realized that the "everything is actually hyperrealistic cake" meme is literally just the inverse of the horror gag where someone slices a cake & it's actually made of flesh, so thanks for giving me this horrific epiphany to write a short horror story about at the current odd hours of the night! (It is literally half past twelve right now.) (Also, I type kinda slow, & everything below this literally took a whole hour to write, lmao. It is half past one now.)
About the story, the lone first person narrator is going insane in the kitchen after having the same realization I did, though they're far more intensely impacted by it, especially as the world around them, including themself, is suddenly made of cleverly disguised confections, leaving the reality of their freshly fully frosted cake to be a deeply horrifying concern! So far, they ripped the handle clean off the knife drawer, accidentally cut their fingertip while successfully bashing in their countertop to retrieve the aforementioned slicing tool, & are about to taste test the saccharine sanguine flowing therefrom in the desperate hope that the very "blood" in their veins is still, in fact, blood, & hasn't been replaced with any saccharine fake sanguine! By the end of the story, all hope will be lost, & candied guts will spill, so ends both our narrator & A Nightmare in Candyland!
(If you can't tell, I absolutely love horror!) (Also, when I'm writing alone, I tend to go back & read things out loud, & I straight up sound like a villain right now, lmao! Straight up laughing all giddy while narrating a bloody descent into sugar sweet madness!)
