I just started watching this show today. Episode 1 was so touching. You can tell he has a love for dogs. And just think, he grew up right here in the SF Bay Area. Oakland, CA, and his business is in San Jose. Love it.

This show taught me how to correct my Turkish Kangal Pit Mix's aggression towards others while on leash. He walks so much better and it made such a difference in our lives! He is still a protector but it's more controlled.

I’m concerned because I can’t find any information online that explicitly states Mr. Leverette and his staff use exclusively humane/non-invasive methods

So many haters in the comments about this man's show ....seems like a lot of jealousy. Also, if PEOPLE had this much concern for PEOPLE, this world would be paradise

I won't discount that Jas or Cesar care about dogs and want the best for them, but it's still sad seeing so many people buy into this. First off, it's a show. It's geared toward getting you to watch it. Secondly, behavior techniques have changed significantly since having to use pain or "dominance" to reinforce behaviors - which through countless studies shows that it doesn't work as well as positive reinforcement. This whole "be the Alpha" mentally is based on single biased study that studied wolves in an artificial habitat. I'd recommend hiring a trained behaviorist. One that has an actual education in behavior studies.

Watched the series and boy am I impressed! I have a pitbull that I rescued from a shelter when he was just 8 weeks old. Was 5-6 weeks old when the shelter got him (stray). He has a few things going on with him (thinking due to him being away from his mom at such a young age + being in a cage/shelter at a very young age). Has anxiety and fear/distrust. He is a year and a half now and has come a long way since due to me taking him to social puppy classes at the humane society till he was 6 months old and then took him to a training class. But still has a little anxiety and fear left. Also still pulling on the leash (though not as bad as before).

I’ve only been training him for about 3 days now from a few tips that I picked up from the show, and I see a HUGE difference already! He now obeys commands more and is more focused on me whenever I am around. Jas is awesome!! Shukran ya Jas : )

KEEP THIS SHOW GOING AND PLEASE DO NOT CANCEL IT, NETFLIX!!

For shame, Netflix. You could have created a show around a trainer who uses modern, humane, SCIENCE-BASED methods, but instead you chose a punishment based trainer who uses methods that have been scientifically proven to be dangerous.

Why are you promoting punishment-based training when all reputable experts have been moving away from these techniques? Any trainer with an ounce of skill can fix tough behaviors without the use of pain or intimidation - if Jas needs these methods, he is not skilled enough to be doing this professionally and DEFINITELY not skilled enough to be the host of a TV show. Awful.

I was excited to watch this but after seeing so many comments about this guy’s methods in real life, I’m not so sure. I have no clue who he is but some of you do and it doesn’t sound good.

This guy uses cruel methods that have been discredited by all major training organizations. We don't need to scare our dogs! Netflix, cancel this show

It is incredibly disappointing to see that Netflix has clearly not done their research before contracting this series. Methods that Jas uses are not best practice -- they are outdated and pose a high risk of fallout. There are already clear stress signals exhibited by dogs in this preview. Please, please, please pull this series before you contribute to the harm that other popularized trainers have spread across the world in the homes of the impressionable audience tuning in.

I have been training “friend’s dogs” for 20 years. Now I just tell them to watch your You Tube channel. You have put me out of work-thanks a lot!!!
