In today’s video I wanted to show the Palace of Knossos located 6km from the city center oh Heraklion, Crete

Info: The Palace of Knossos is the largest and longest-lived Minoan palace of Crete. The First Palace was founded circa 1900 BC but suffered extensive damage in the devastating earthquake of 1700 BC. The New Palace was immediately rebuilt, becoming larger and more imposing but preserving roughly the same architectural plan: separate wings of many rooms on two or more storeys set around a spacious Central Court oriented N-S. Monumental entrances on every side impressed all who approached this labyrinthine complex, which was located at the heart of a prosperous city. In 1450 BC all the palatial centres of Crete, with the exception of Knossos, were destroyed and abandoned. Knossos, however, not only survived but flourished, as attested by the archaeological finds and the tablets in Greek Linear B script from the Palace.
