The thing is Jaden isnt wrong about there being things people cant change back. During the Yubel and Supreme King arc, a lot of his close friends blamed him for ending up in the situation they were in during the duel with brron even though they chose to follow Jaden of their own free will. Even if they were under some spell, those words still effected him and it shows with how he changed. Jaden was trying to save Jesse and the thing is, Jaden would have done the same thing for any of them if they were in the same situation Jesse was in. The guilt they put on him is what turned him into the supreme king. Jaden's "friends" are the reason why he's changed cause he had to in order to protect them cause they always needed him to save the day. Jaden was the kind of person that if he thought there was a way to save one of his friends, he pursue it to try and save them. Season 4 was basically Jaden's journey to find himself and his love for dueling after constantly having to duel to survive.

Let’s be honest, they all got Judai to fix their problems for them, always relying on him, so now when he changes, they have a problem.

Bruh, judai was fucking tired. Tired of everything that everyone had threw upon his shoulder. It doesnt need batman detective skill to notice that a once happy go lucky boy turns into an edgy teen. My man Judai had to save your ass every single arc, he clearly need a break.

You know it'll be serious and hit hard when a happy-go-lucky character becomes serious and edgy. I mean, it's good character development, but seeing Jaden serious and all makes me heartbroken.

The guy was fighting for his life in season 3 all the time and had to watch his friends die and blame him for it and judai hasn't become an edgelord he's just serious and his friends hate him for it they don't try and help they just hate him for not liking duel monsters anymore maybe the fact that if he lost he would die made him this way

Mah man jaden needs a break from them. All they did was follow his ass all 3 years and when they were in trouble, jaden comes and saves the day. And when they went to that other world, they blame him for bringing them into this. Like, they dragged themselves into it. And the fact that he never asked them to do anything for him shows just how selfish they are and how ungrateful they are

The irony is that this was kind of how everyone wanted Jaden to take things back in season 1. Except now that he's serious they don't like it. Its a bit odd how they didn't expect him to change after all the stuff that happened with Yubel.

The nerve of this chick. After everything her and everyone said during season 3, and relying on him to save their ass? And now that he’s being an individual, suddenly his change is bad? I wish she would put hands on him, I’ll send that chick into another dimension again

I mean, can you blame him?
His sacrificed himself to save the entire school, something he blamed himself due to Yubel, went to a different dimension where he literally dueled for his life.
The last time Judai saw any of you guys, you insulted him before dying, something he was forced to do by the way.
Then he succumbed to the power of the Supreme King, killed innocents, two of his friends before being brought back.
Then when he wants to stop, he is forced to duel, not only that but duel the friend he was trying to save, who is being controlled by a monster of his creation.
THEN he realizes that to defeat said monster, he has to use the powers of the Supreme King, something i bet did not help with his mentality.
I would be more worried if the guy returned normal like nothing happened!

at the moment Jaden left, we can see a skull anatomy, I d'ont think it's "chance", Jaden changed and lost a very important things: The joy !

I'm just reminded how it was such a wasted opportunity in season four that Jaden never got to have a good conversation with Aster and Zane. They would have understood him completely since how they saw dueling changed as well from what they went through, and they wouldn't be on his case about not having fun. The irony is especially when you look at Jaden and Aster’s tag duel in season two, Aster was mad at him at first for not taking it seriously. But then when he does take duels seriously later here, he gets yelled at for it.
