if anyone is confused about the whole "when should i use private key or public key, should i encrypt or decrypt" etc . here's something for you

If person A wants to send a message that is only readable by person B, then person A encrypt the message with person B's public key, so that when B receives the message, only he can decrypt it with his private key.

On the other side,
If person A wants to make a signature or verify their identity, then A encrypts the message with A's private key, so that anyone can use A's public key to check/verify the person A. It is also called a digital signature
