Growing up in Cincinnati, local guitarist Bill Bartlett would play this song in area bars in a band called the Lemonpipers. He had adapted the song from an old blues song and he rocked it up. The crowd would go crazy when he played this and eventually he released it as a single in his new band Ram Jam. The rest is history.
