Sir answer of questions
Q1
1. James mill - James mill was a Scottish economist and political philosopher who wrote the massive three volume work called ' History of British India ' .
2. Archives - archives were the place where important documents and manuscript were kept.
3. Surveys - examining and recording a particular area is called surveys .there are many more surveys like botanical survey, forest survey, anthropological survey, archeological survey.
4. Colonial - historian said that modern period must have modern concepts like democracy, freedom, equality and reason but indians don't have these things so, we refer british ara as 'colonial' .
Q2
The dates which are important is depend upon the historian who wrote the history like if british historian wrote the they will show about the governor generals and their achievements and if Indian historian wrote the history they would show their perspective like the problem faced by people, freedom struggle, revolt, movements.
