Synthstrom Audible Deserves Praise!

This past weekend, Synthstrom Audible revealed information that all Deluge units will now ship with a new OLED display. The old screen has been a major pain point for a lot of Deluge users, so the change has been welcomed by the community so far. However, Synthstrom went a step further and is offering a screen upgrade service for all owners of the original Deluge! I wanted to make this video because I feel that they deserve a large amount of praise for respecting their existing customer base, so thank you Synthstrom Audible! Enjoy the video :)

What's also cool is the refresh option the offer too whereby you can send in your deluge and they will update the faceplate or replace pads etc.. I've not seen that sort of service elsewhere... A very good company indeed!

Ahh I can't wait for the upgrade! I've been messing with/learning the Deluge over the last couple of months, but took a little break. I JUST pulled it out again today to get back into the groove of things & saw the announcement. Now I want to wait until the screen is upgraded T_T

Definitely an amazing upgrade, the limited screen capabilities were my biggest issue by far. Plus Synthstrom's offer to upgrade existing units is largely unheard of these days, even going back 20 years. Their proposal for rolling out the upgrade was not well-handled, as they said the website would start taking orders beginning at noon PDT last Saturday. The enormous response totally crashed the website, so they announced they will re-think the upgrade rollout and let us know how that will work when they figure out how to do it. Kudo's to Synthstrom, what a standup company, just hope the upgrades are done smoothly and we get our hands on the new screen soon!

Hey, new subscriber here. I really enjoy how your channel covers some of the same instruments as other channels do but in a completely different way. Not everything you do is meant to be a tutorial or a deep dive. Yet you explore things about instruments that no other channel seems to touch on. Cheers.

Yeah, look at their process for changing the screen. Identify what chip you have, reprogram it, replace a mini motherboard, use a jig to install the new screen, all for 150 bucks on something I just paid 1000 bucks for.
Wonderful. This is an example to all.

Watching your video (long before the end) I jumped into "Reverb" in order to find a used one to buy in a much lower price than the 999 and then sending it for screen upgrade. Well....I did not find a single unit being sold!

I finally sold my Deluge. I love a lot about it but that screen made it such a drag to use. I love the company and their service, waiting to see the new ui

I am very excited! Once they have migrated the majority of Deluges to a screen, they can also add software features which would be hard to do on the old screen. For example if you press a note on the Squarp Hapax you get a view of all the note’s parameters (probability, velocity, length, pitch, ….) on the screen, and the Hapax then allows you to change the pitch from a G to an F# even if you’re in a scale that doesn’t have an F# on the main grid. The Deluge could have that too.

Even without the upgrade, I think it's the most capable device of it's kind... With that screen upgrade, it seriously crushes the competition.

The other good thing that this indicates is that Synthstrom will be very likely to continue to provide firmware updates for some time to come. The Deluge has already had some of the best feature upgrades of any hardware device on the market!

I'm really looking forward to getting mine fitted with the new screen. I've already made my deposit!
