Every day I try to start with some finger exercises followed by playing tonal scales. Maybe weird, I also use a song from Santo & Johnny, Sleepwalk as a kind of finger exercise. Namely, Brian Setzer's version that contains many parts that I feel are favorable. Before you trip over my name again, it's actually just a translation of our family name.
