I give you a quick intro to drop jumps in this "60sec Coach" short.
You’ll understand what they do, what height to use and a little history.
Despite the recommendations presented in the video it's important (as I indicate) that you work from a hight which is suitable to you. Although there is a lot more to it, I would use how much bend at the knee occurs on ground contact as a test of height suitability/readiness.
If there is too much bend at the knee and a "give" before returning force upwards then I'd suggest the height is too great.
Always allow plenty of recovery between jumps (30-45sec) and between sets (90sec). Do, for example, 3 x 5.

At what height does it become a depth jump rather than a drop jump? Or is it more about intent and joint angles rather than height which changes the classification?

I wonder if its a good idea to go for depthjumps with high eccentric load and go dropjumps with fast contact next. What do you think is there a right order/circle between both drills?
