My father used to say that he was scared of the next generation (the one born after him). If he was here now, he'd say that the generation following him is fine but the one following it terrifies him. I do share that sentiment.

People are blowing this whole ruining Christmas thing out of proportion... Christmas does not live and die with Santa. I see no reason why kids wouldn't enjoy Christmas the same way by just knowing that their presents actually come from mommy and daddy, sounds fair and fine to me

We should instill love, compassion, & kindness into people.

Saint Nicholas was actually a real person though, a long time ago. The whole point of having a father Christmas/Santa Claus is to honour his memory, like quite a lot us do with other dead but not forgotten figures from

Santa isn;t a lie!!
He was based on the story of Nicolas Claus who everyone called Santa after he died cause "Santa" it Italian for 'Saint'. He EXISTED!
Let me fill you in, he was a Monk who lived in 17th century Austria. Yes he did have a red wool coat cause it was cold in the mountains where he lived and he had a beard. He was a talented woodcarver and he saw how the poor families didn;t have enough money for gifts for thier children or food for their Christmas celebrations. So he carved wooden toys for the children and bought turkeys and good things to eat. On December 24th he rode in a sleigh with reindeer (didn;t fly of course) and left the toys in either the children;s stockings that were hanging out to dry or their shoes and left the food in bags just outside the doors so when the families opened their doors on Christmas morning they would find the surprises there! He became well known for his generiousity, love of children, speading the love of Jesus, and Christmas. And on Christmas Eve we honor his memory!
That's what you tell them. It's the truth. The real Santa died a long time ago, but we honor his memory by sharing presents and love on Christmas Day and doing good in the world.

They are just copying people who did this in the 90's and 70's.
If you don't want Santa in your celebration, okay you do that.
Just know not everyone is going to do that. And not everyone celebrates the same holidays. It is just logical.

The falsehood of Santa prepares kids to believe in the lies of our governments & societies.

Thank God this generation has some sense. People are hanging on to a pagan idol and don't even know it.

Why not just tell them the truth about Saint Nicholas?
Or are we trying to cancel culture and the Saints of the Catholic Church?

I appreciate the message behind this, but you don't have to cancel Santa to get it across. My parents made sure to build trust, so when it came to Santa they joked about him intentionally in a way I knew he was fictional, but still got to enjoy the Santa traditions 🎅

There's more evidence in Santa then God. Long live the cult of Claus.

Santa is a lie. At least Gen Z stops the lies and shilling for materialism.

If discovering that Santa is not a living being is going to traumatize the children, said children will be ill prepared for this cruel world! Why does the younger generation have to squeeze all the joy out of everything? Children gradually come to realize that Santa is a fantasy…. I am a grandmother, and I have yet to meet a child who was sorry that they celebrated Christmas with Santa. This younger generation ( or at least the group of politically correct upstarts) seems to have no imagination!

Gen Z parents ?
I'm part of gen Z (born in 2004) and I'm not thinking of getting married till I'm 28 or 30.
Imagine becoming an parent at 22 😁, it must be an unique experience.
