The complexity he brought mixed in with existential crisis, his emotional attachment to Barbie, going in the wrong direction just to be different and separate entity then truly finding out that he himself as an individual is just enough (or kenough) and worthy...his arc parallels Barbie's in many ways and he is not a foil to her character-wise. I feel like comedic timing whilst still being charming is one of the hardest things to do because it's almost innate.
