where the current teaching of lean is failing--and hugely--is not pointing out the 2% principle to make employees on the floor embrace it. There should be meetings every so often to point out that what you have done is letting you work 2% LESS harder. The funny thing is that in these various videos they point out the biggest problem is that employees do not embrace it because they view it as they are simply going to beat harder and harder to improve and work harder. Can Akdeniz above all others should also have pointed this out but as yet I have not seen it. They have this issue of the company and workers having this thing forced down like giving medication to a cat--yet they do not give a solution. The solution is the 2% principle. Explain and make clearer to the workers that they are the company and that the management is the sun that gives guidance and energy. Its symbiotic--the workers must view themselves as being part of if not the company--nothing so far that ive seen explains this in laymans terms.
