I was born in Lincolnshire 76 years ago ! I emigrated to South Africa and my pension is not enough to go back but I wish I could as Lincolnshire is the BEST place in the world ! As an apprentice I worked with the Yorkshire Electricity Board and went all over Lincs and it is the friendliest most beautiful county ! No mines or dirty factories !!! The most beautiful countryside !

A really wonderful film that deserves wider showing. Home town Stamford but now living in sunny Milton Keynes. I visit Stamford several times a year on Fridays for the great market.

The woman who sewed the first American flag was married to an Ashburn at one time. Was he a member of my family? Names were often had different spellings long ago.

The world record for a steam locomotive was set by Mallard in 1938 heading south from Grantham down Stoke Bank and hitting 126mph. Alas, a lot of Lincolnshire railways have long gone, including the main line from Grimsby to London 2hich should have stayed open.

Lincolnshire football teams have their ups and downs. It seems a long time ago when Grimsby Town broke the crowd record at Old Trafford, not playing United but Wolves in the FA Cup semi final just before the War.

I am proud of being a Yellowbelly.
