We need this level of competence more than ever - the experts, the professionals, people who are passionate in their sector & a Govt good at management, processes, detail & high standards. We keep talking about budgets, the deficit etc., and how everything’s impossible. But we’re 6th largest economy, worth £2.3 trillion & smart! Resources can be shifted around & spent more wisely. Only thing is, I wish Reeves would take investment out of her fiscal rules & extend to 10, 20 year return. We all do it with our mortgages & no reason why we can’t see housebuilding, green plan & AI investment in same way. She understands BoE & markets well enough to work with them to reconfigure a long term investment plan.
