High school senior Alex Truelove (Daniel Doheny) has it all - the grades, the girlfriend (Madeline Weinstein), and the motley crew of hilarious friends. Everything is smooth sailing until Alex shares that he's decided to part ways with his virginity - and meets Elliott (Antonio Marziale), a sweet and confident gay boy who isn't shy about his instant crush on Alex...who may or may not feel the same. Rocketed into a endearing and amusing journey of sexual and self-exploration, Alex ultimately learns that like so much of growing up, love can be confusing. And that's okay.

This movie was so cute and funny, I loved his chemistry with the other boy, they were an adorable couple. I wish they could've had more scenes together, because it mostly focused on the relationship between him and his girlfriend.

I hope he turns out to be I'll never understand why bisexuals are always disregarded. What do ppl think the b in lgbt stands for? Bread?

Yup. I am sold. (I hope he just turns out to be bisexual and does NOT cheat on anyone and then with a bisexual male lead achieved, I'll die happy)

Loved it! It was more rated r than love Simon and was more focused on his relationship with his friends and girlfriend. The “conversation” with gf almost had me in tears.

Tell me I'm not the only one who cried at the end? God, I started sobbing so hard cause it hit home. I was 14 when I knew I was bi.

Probably won't watch this, not into romantic movies but I do think it's interesting that gay people always get asked "how do you know that you're gay" but straight people never get asked "how do you know that you're straight" 🤔

I first found myself watching this for the bromance part which was only a little part of the movie, but it made perfect sense because he really liked her and was scared of losing her. Most movies I've seen skip the part of the straight girl and let her just accept the fact that someone she loves is gay and needs to break up and that everything's fine. I love how their relationship is the narrative for his coming out story. It stretches representation of these relationships that are going on in the world. Not your average gay movie and that's why it's perfect.

I cried watching this movie. Not at the parts with Elliot, but the parts where Claire had to find out he was gay the hard way. Felt bad for her because she got lead on, even if it wasn’t Alex’s intention to do so.

But tbh I don’t see the problem with being virgin . Like you don’t need to be sexually active in a relation, that doesn’t mean there is less love and affection. In fact I think at this age, most of us still quite young in our life experiences don’t always know the true meaning of love . Love is more than romance and sexual intercourse. especially when you’re so young . This is the age to be kids, goof around . There’s a time for everything and if it happens before the time, it’s not as magical. Just the perspective of one 18 year old ~ not expecting everyone to see it this way but that’s what is right for me ~ for me .
But I still think this movie and the gay couple is quite cute . They look like many of us and not extra hot models !

I love lgbt movies even though I'm straight. They've always felt more sincere.

PLEASE let him be something other than gay or straight because people don't just fall into those two categories

This isn’t just a gay movie, or a coming out movie. This is about a guy who questions his sexuality. The type of people who don’t get recognized a lot. Many people say they knew they were gay cause they always liked boys. But for me and other people, it was a hell of a lot more than that

Just watched it, it's actually a really great movie. Thought it would be too "high schoolish" for me but it definitely wasnt. There wasnt the "bad guy" aka some popular asshole and the main character wasnt the "loser" like so many movies use as a storyline. It balances humor and real issues pretty well. I think it turned out pretty realistic without being overly dramatic which was nice. Definitely recommend it.
