How to Create Animated Trail Maps with STRAVA + RELIVE

Animated trail maps add so much to your trail videos, but Strava no longer connects directly to Relive. But there is a workaround and I'll show you how.

I've been downloading my Relive trail videos for a while and using them in my videos. For the record, I did check with Relive if this is okay, and they replied as long as I don't remove their logos, they are fine for me to use.

There might be a short cut. Open your relive video in the email and right-click after it starts playing. You can save it as an mp4 file.

I would love to start adding customized animated maps of my rides to my videos. Relive does a good job, but you're stuck with their canned video format at low resolution (unless you pay for the pro version). I'm investigating bringing the GPX file into Google Earth Studio and creating a customized, high-res flyover video file for each ride. It will take a lot more time than using Relive, for sure. I'll let you know if I come up with an effective workflow for this.

Excellent presentation, thanks. As to the app, it seems a bit hit and miss. Sometimes the activity/map will be emailed to me, sometimes I have to email it( and then have to try several times). Sometimes it just creates an activity with a time and date and I have to delete it and start over...
