Indian tax authorities raided the BBC’s New Delhi and Mumbai offices on February 14, 2023, weeks after the British broadcaster aired in the UK a documentary about Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s actions during deadly sectarian riots in 2002. Modi’s government banned the documentary from being shown in India, and a spokesman for the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party called the broadcaster “the most corrupt organisation in the world”. The BBC has said it stands by the documentary, and that it was cooperating with the investigation.

BBC had it coming. The incident was 2002, but they release it at the best timing: when India decided to support Russia, and buy Russian gas without price cap.

Why did European and Western countries stop Russian news channels in their countries if they care about “free speech” so much?

전적으로 영국 파운드로 운영되는 뉴스 네트워크로, 스스로를 다른 어떤 국가의 사법부보다 우월하다고 생각합니다. 어떻게 독립언론이라고 부르며 믿을 수 있단 말인가?

Modi is no Gandhi
He knows how to get even.
He is a democratically elected dictator.
He may not be the perfect leader but in current geopolitical reality he is the one who can get things done. That's why people love him.

Law is supreme and should be ever . No one is above law .This concept is British invention so being used for them. Where india is becoming major power and world’s 5th largest economy soon, to some this is not digestible .well thats okey, india knows very well how to respond to every situation and move forward 🇮🇳

These college student seem to be funded to do this, as I don't think there are college students who are so eager to get involved in political issues and protest on behalf of a British state funded media outlet.

Lesson learned. If I ever want to create a mega corporation that evade a lot in taxes, I just also share a documentary criticizing government so any investigation can be blamed on attempting to silence.

India used to be so great and well respected. I'm not really sure what happen recently. Even my country stopped viewing India as a role model and focuses more on Japan and China.
