The best thing a true Star Wars fan can do is just assume episodes 7, 8 and 9 never ever existed.

The real Episode VII, VIII, and XI were the following: Heir To The Empire, Dark Force Rising, The Last Command! Dump the worst order, and make those books into movies! Grand Admiral Thrawn > Space Nazi Hux! Long Live The Empire!

You can't fix the new star wars trilogy, the one with Ray Palpatine, garbage is and will always be garbage.

All big successful movie franchises have one thing in common, their originator owns the brand.

Hitchcock, Kubrik, Scorsese, Coppola, Spielberg, Lucas, Ridley Scott etc etc

These creators aren't hired, they're self-made men and women.

You can't hire a genius.

Rian Johnson is just an employee, a yay sayer.

And I'm sorry to say that Dsve Feloni and John Faverau aren't any geniuses by far.
They are dedicated Stars Wars fans and are creative, but lacks the most important talent in filmmaking - the sense of drama and subtle humor.

So far in the Disney+ era, Dave Feloni and John Faverau haven't created the drama that Star Wars actually is about.

The only one worthy of this is actually the director and write of the Andor series, Tony Gilroy.
Even though this series had an awkwardly slow pace he succeeded in letting dialogs bringing the story forward in a way that reminds us of the great filmmakers.

The problem with having the sequel trilogy so far into the future from the original trilogy is that writers then have to try to fit whatever they create to ensure that it is coherent and eventually flows into the latter storyline.
It's easy to produce "filler" shows like Mando, Boba and Ahsoka, as those don't directly involve the trilogy characters, otherwise the writers/producers have to retcon characters, events, etc to fit the end narrative they concocted in the sequel trilogy.
This was the problem with the original expanded universe... major storylines released in no particular order and writers creating content in between the intervening periods to explain things that were mentioned in latter timeline content or referencing earlier stories for context.

I understand where Disney was coming from in creating their own trilogy and setting it 30+ years after Episode VI (and dumping the original Expanded Universe content) so they could then fill the gap with their own content, but even with the Mando-verse events occurring ~5 years after Episode VI, there is still a lot of time to fill until they get to the events of Episode VII.
At least with the original EU, it kicked-off ~5 years after Episode VI and mostly moved forward from there.
They have cut of their nose despite their face in setting their first trilogy so far into the future when they could have been closer to the end of the original trilogy and expanded from that.
Instead, they gave us a trilogy with all new characters and pushed the original characters into the background with, dare i say it, nothing better than cameo appearances.

Yes, Disney wanted to re-coup the financial ledger after the acquisition of Lucasfilm by announcing and bringing out a new trilogy ASAP, but they could have done so much better.

Me and many of my friends understood and appreciated the nostalgia in The Force Awakens. It was such a long time since the last film that it was neccesary to remind the old fans and at the same time introduce the Star Wars feeling to the new audience. JJ Abrahams succeeded in making the new heroes likeable and interesting side by side with Han Solo, and thats not easy.

JJ also created the best cliffhangers in film history.
- Who were Rey's parents?
- What had Luke become?
- Who is Snoke?
- What is the story behind Kylo?

None were answered in a good way to bring the story or the characteres into the future.
- Snoke just died.
- Luke had become an old grumpy depressed man.
- Ray's parents were just an alcoholic couple....
- Kylo Ren, just a confused

Ryan Johnson blew all the nice opportuneties that JJ had presented so nicely! Such a waste of money, fan expectations and good film making!

It hasn't already started. This is all putting out feelers to see how the fans react. It won't be pretty. It's a huge "nothing burger". I hate that term.

In universe there is no confirmation that Ilum became Starkiller Base, meaning the distinct change to its appearance in Fallen Order would be attributed to the Empire mining excessively for Kyber crystals. The cloning plot lines make sense removed from the sequels since the reason clones were discontinued in the first place was sheer cost and the imperial remnant would likely be trying to find a way to mass produce clones for cheap to make up for their inability to reliably recruit new stormtroopers AND to potentially bring back Palpatine in the same way he was brought back in legends

Okay, but SW will continue a joke and a dead franchise until the sequel trilogy is decanonized. That includes the sneaky Disney plus series that connect to the sequels, so all Disney must be decanonized or else this franchise will never rise from the grave.

I almost want them to reboot so they get even more humilliated for their stupidity.

They never came to their senses. They threw a ton of content at the wall to see what stuck, and didn't care if the "not stuck" pieces disrespected the lore.

Episode 10 will be the first Star Wars film I will not bother to see in the cinema. For the love of God and all that is holy, get rid of Kathleen Kennedy!

disney is gonna end up bankrupt if they ignore the majority of the fandom that wants the sequels to be put in a alternate universe

Ep 7 was a redo of ep 4 in my.opinion.

the youngest audience do NOT see the ST as the only or first entry in SW. Because they could see the other stuff in the internet before or on DVD. So they grow with all films as a whole. And if the newest films did not please then, then they will not be the future audience. Whst xou forget also is that many fans from generation z are fans because their parents introduced them to it. So if the old fans from the 80s and 90's do not like the new films, then their children will be influenced by them. Lose genX and you lose genZ.

Books 4, 5, 6 were lightning in a bottle. Hard to recreate those feels or tone in a modern movie.

We don't care about a "soft reboot". We don't want The Mandalorian episodes to lead to the horrendous, shameful postlogy. We want a real remake of the fake postlogy, with the scripts Lucas had written.
