Inside a Crinoid dancing on the coral reef (Feather Star)

Crinoids are often pretty stationary critters. They will sit on top of a coral or sponge fishing for food particles brought to them by the current. But some times they move around. At night time they might move from a place of protection to a place of better feeding: see this video:
This one was moving as if it was dancing on the coral reef

This video is filmed with a special lens called a probe lens or insect eye lens.
It is a long narrow lens that allows very close focus while being very wide = it isn't intimidating and allows you to film closer to the animal while keeping more of the image in focus than a typical macro lens.

I'll be posting a series of short videos filmed with this type of lens.
