The city of Treasure Island has a new plan to elevate the entire island to protect it from rising sea levels.

The Island sits on Limestone, the only reason the Island exists is because it was somewhat above Sea Level. The Limestone will dissolve. These Folks are really Ignorant.

This doesn't even make sense on a 5th Grade level of understanding engineering, once the beach is gone, everything above that will erode away also. What are they going to raise the Beach too?

Gosh, did they ever think that to actually get to Treasure Island you have to drive over a Bridge? And who is going to pay for this nonsense. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Most of the bottom 1/3 of Florida is on borrowed time if the seas keep rising . This is akin to the Miami sea wall. Another questionable idea and when we see some of the magnificent ancient cities now underwater we know their impressive building engineering was No match for rising seas. Are they going to try for an artificial island? Cheaper to move elsewhere.

I think the idea put forth decades ago, was that rising seas was going to happen if we did not do something to stop it. We really have done nothing. We're gonna reap it, and it's just about too late to do anything about it.
