It’s urbanization, skills, science and technology that drives China’s economic growth.

Not retirement age or demographics

The saddest thing about India working with the west against China is that the West will do the same to India in the future. India will also get cut off from places like Africa and South America. We in Africa respect China for supporting us to develop. India needs to think about what they are doing. Their time will come. We all see how the WEST uses one country against each other for their own gains.

I can inform you that in Denmark we have in normal retiring age as 67 now and in the future it will go up to at least 70 so I don’t know the fuss about 60 or 62. I would reckon that as a luxury. For me who is at the moment 57 my officially retirement age is 68.

No government that I know of is pushing or forcing people to work longer into old age. It is the lack of money (low on money) is what forces old people to work. If a person has enough money then a person can retire at any age even younger. The key answer is to have enough money (of some type of source) if you want to retire at “any age”, no matter what age.

On the other hand, can the planet sustain the current rate of population growth. Just in my lifetime the World's population has doubled. Something had to give. Should it be a longer working life....or no life at all ?

its a 1st world problem....living longer. Something India doesn't have. The average Indian is expected to live to 70 years. Americans and Chinese are 77 and 78 respectively. The lifespan of Indians is expected to drop due to air pollution and poor water quality and the increasing population putting a burden onto the health system.

Retiring at 60 for men is 20th century thinking. With all the medical improvements and increase of life span, It is fair to increase the retirement age.
