Konghead was one of the first monster trucks I built. It is a stunning kit when finished and any upgrade in the motor is just what it needs. Lunchbox, Heavy Dump truck and the Konghead will just give miles of smiles.

it does loo like a blast to drive and they are surprisingly quick and agile! I am looking forward to building mine and romping it around! I have the Volvo 6x6 dump truck and it looks like it should be slow and well... dumpy! It really drives super well and is just silly fun! I did get a chuckle when it rolled over and sat there on its roof! Take care guys and I enjoyed the video!

Pne thing the Kongjead has in common with the Lunch Box (my favorite): both intend to roll over to the side in tight high speed turrns. Proven in the outtakes😂

Those things are so much fun. Great video. I painted my King Yellow like the Fort Night battle bus. Did the 4 feel steering with 2 servos and a 10 turn 3 cell brushless setup. SICK FUN!

The konghead is certainly a jack of all trades, and by the looks of it even jumps well to.
But you do bring up a valid
As a huge Tamiya Monster truck fan I currently own:-
2 lunchbox's
2 pumpkins
2 clods
3 monster beetles
1 mud blaster
1 blackgoot
no Kongheads?
Possibly for the very reasons you suggested perhaps?
We buy a CWO1 for their bouncy cumbersome wheelie antics, we buy a clod for its sheer size and brutality, and we buy an ORV for its nimble buggy like steering....
but at the same time these models all have their own issues/quirks!
So in reality I think you have hit the nail on the head there guys....perhaps being just a good all rounder lessens it's appeal?
That's got me pondering now! 😁

I hum hawed for months before I just bought a Konghead.
They are utterly goofy looking. Like a fever dream of a 6 year old. Which, to me, was all the appeal. Everyone was like, "really? Why'd you buy that?"
"Cause it's a bad mofo."
Easily one of my favorites to drive, it handles brushless (thanks to the literal 40 ball bearings) and you just wouldn't understand unless you have driven one. 6 wheel drive monster truck, sporting a semi truck body. Say no more.
I'm gonna go drive my Konghead right fking now.

Tamiya missed an opportunity with the Konghead. Instead of the weird truckbody the should have given us the Lunchbox 6x6. That thing would sell like hot cakes.

Honestly, I am seriously thinking about one of these with some mild mods and a 3300KV motor, not for speed, but torque IF the transmission can handle that power.

Konghead is definitely quirky! it has its own charm, go anywhere anytime attitude. If I don't know what RC to bash around in, i will always take the Konghead out for a spin!
