The most heartbreaking moment in this scene comes after Lady Sybil's death, when the cries of her baby girl break the silence.

It's been YEARS and I still haven't gotten over her death in the show

Hearing Tom say, “Please breathe love”. Crushed me. 🥹

Robert had more than enough ground to sue Sir Philip for everything he had, and have his doctor’s license stripped. Sybil’s death was entirely his fault. Not only did he misdiagnose, but he didn’t even allow Clarkson to have a say in it. He kept shutting down Clarkson’s professional opinions - even though Clarkson had known Sybil all her life - and manipulating the family into disregarding Clarkson’s pleas to get Sybil to a hospital. There is absolutely no way that Sir Philip’s career survived this.

the arrogance of men who were raised to believe that title/status outweighs actual knowledge. This was Robert's fault, too, for shutting out Clarkson.

I was depressed for three days after this episode. I was with my friends when I was watching this with back in college and we just sat in the dark for 30 solid minutes before anyone said anything

Wonderful acting from everyone especially Allen and Jessica.

The fact they kept this ending under wraps from the press made it even more of a shock. Nobody expected Lady Sybil to die.

There's some shows that made me shed a tear and maybe I was sad for a minute. But there is no other show I've watched that has made me downright weep for several minutes at the death of a character. Definitely on eof my favourite shows ever

The "Please don't leave me, please love" those pleas of true denial are heartbreaking. Acted so well by all the cast. You truly have to remind yourself that this is a scene and not real.

Whether you're a fan of Downtown or haven't seen it and want to binge it, I honestly say, prepare yourself, for you will need tissues, or some time before the next episode.

Years later I see this clip & I get complete body chills. It hurt so bad when she died. I know, she was just a character in a tv show, but this show was well made that a person couldn't help but become so wrapped up in it. To love certain characters (such as Sybil), & absolutely hate other characters (such as miss o'brian). It hurt to watch Sybil die. 😭😭😭😭
