Jebel Akhdar, The Green Mountain is a part of Al Hajar Mountains and rises to a height of 3000 m above sea level. It is 154 Kms from Muscat and takes you around 2 1/2 of drive.
It is famous for it's terraced orchards of pomegranates, apricots and roses. Due to it's Mediterranean climate crops grow in abundance.
Jebel Akhdar is only accessible to well maintained 4 WD with a maximum of 6 persons. At the checkpoint you must keep the driver licence, car insurance and ID ready with you.
You will definitely enjoy the pleasant climate out there.
