How Aldersgate Changed John Wesley

What is Aldersgate Day?
On May 24, 1738, the founder of Methodism attended a religious meeting on Aldersgate Street in London where he “felt his heart strangely warmed.”
Wesley wrote about the experience in his journal, “I felt I did trust in Christ, Christ alone, for salvation; and an assurance was given me that He had taken away my sins, even mine, and saved me from the law of sin and death.”
Historians at the United Methodist Commission on Archives and History say Aldersgate was a turning point in Wesley’s personal faith understanding and ministry. Each year, United Methodists are encouraged to renew their own spiritual journeys on Aldersgate Sunday in May.

Look how the Spirit of God is departing from Methodism because they have by and large abandoned His eternal word for the doctrine of men
