I've spent a lot of my life around very wealthy people and been in a lot of pitch meetings with them. The thing I've learnt is that you have to be direct, no waffle and speak in the language that the receiver understands. So if someone thinks in terms of money coming in you talk about turnover, if they hate spending money you talk about how much you will save and how little the costs will be. People rarely put themselves in the shoes of the receiver.
If this guy had done his homework he'd have known BA needed to hear information that he knew wasn't available to regular people and then he'd be interested.
