Fort IV 'Chrzanów' POV, 16.01.2023

🇵🇱 Fort IV "Chrzanów" to czwarty z kolei fort Twierdzy Warszawa, zbudowany w latach 1883-1890. Jefo zadaniem była obrona szosy prowadzącej w kierunku Poznania oraz linii kolejowej. Fort stanowi typowe dzieło pięcioboczne z dwoma czołami, stykającymi się pod kątem bliskim 180 stopni. Umocnienie o jednym wale otacza sucha fosa.

Fort posiadał ceglane koszary i do obrony fosy - czołową kaponierę i dwie barkowe półkaponiery. Fort ma około 400 metrów szerokości.

Po 1909 roku, w ramach likwidacji twierdzy, zniszczono część umocnień fortu. W 1939 roku trwały w oparciu o niego walki 360 Pułku Piechoty. Po wojnie mieściła się tutaj przetwórnia mięsna, a do 1994 roku magazyn techniczny PSS Społem. Później obiekt przejęło wojsko. Obecnie fort jest opuszczony.

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 Fort IV "Chrzanów" is the fourth fort of the Warsaw Fortress, built in the years 1883-1890. Its task was to defend the road leading towards Poznań and the railway line. The fort is a typical pentagonal structure with two faces, meeting at an angle of nearly 180 degrees. The single rampart fortification is surrounded by a dry moat.

The fort had brick barracks and, for moat defence, a frontal caponier and two shoulder half-caponiers. The fort is approximately 400 metres wide.

After 1909, part of the fort's fortifications were destroyed as part of the liquidation of the fort. In 1939, the 360th Infantry Regiment fought on its base. After the war, it housed a meat processing plant, and until 1994 the technical warehouse of PSS Społem. Later, the facility was taken over by the army. At present, the fort is abandoned.
