Scilla siberica, most commonly known as the Siberian squill or wood squill, is a species of flowering plant native to southwestern Russia, the Caucasus, and Turkey. Despite its name, it is not native to Siberia. Siberian squill is a perennial bulbaceous plant with narrow basal leaves and erect stems bearing racemes of star-shaped, flat, or bell-shaped flowers which are often blue in color. This is one of the early spring blooming flowers that is considered to be symbolizing steadfastness, fidelity, and loyalty. Here is a short video of this magnificent Siberian squill bloom.
