NCSBN will release the new test plan early next year, which means educators will know more specifics about the NGN at that time. But - I did want to add on to this video that they announced they are taking into consideration the length of time it takes to answer some of the new item types. For example, it would take you longer to read and finish a case study item than a traditional multiple choice item. Total time is calculated based on a time per item formula. This has been adjusted to reflect the new item types. - Ellis

Thank you for this video! The more info we can get about the next gen NCLEX the better.

Thanks for the info and explanation. Unfortunately, these sought-after skills (clinical judgment and decision making) are skills a nurse acquires with "experience", in the practice. No book or test for that matter can teach what experience and mentoring can.

There's so many things I learmed in my BSN program that I did NOT learn in LVN school. LVN and RN are not entirely the same.

Thank you for your helpful video. I have a question; I understand that they are implementing only a certain "percentage" of the New Gen style questions on the nursing NCLEX, and that has the new partial scoring, but since they are leaving part of the "old nursing NCLEX style questions on the exam", does the new SCORING apply to those questions as well, or just the New Gen NCLEX type questions added that you receive the partial or no points?

Hi, I have a question, let's say for example I have a question that's SATA (Select all that apply) and it's not in a case study question. Will the partial scoring still be applied? or is it still if I get one incorrect in the SATA; the whole item is incorrect.
Thank you!
