The rule of thumb is horses shouldn't carry more than 20% of their body weight, that includes rider and saddle. Anything heavier compromises the horse. I have been around horses for 30 years and I have seen the negative effects of horses having too much weight to carry. Ruins their back, legs, and hooves.

I'm fat too.... the fatness is only funny in that the horse obviously had no politically correct attitude about her weight as demonstrated by his prompt refusal to bear her weight and then bucking her off!
