Being Lame | The People's Court

The plaintiff bought a horse. However, the horse didn't look anything like the photo, and his hip was injured, so the plaintiff is suing. The defendant insists the plaintiff agreed to buy the horse sight unseen. Additionally, the defendant argues the horse wasn't actually injured. He was just stiff from being on the road for so long.

I haven’t watched the whole thing yet but who in the WORLD would buy a horse, sight unseen from Craigslist, without a vet check, especially for a disabled child who clearly needs a safe horse. That is absolutely stupid on the plaintiffs part

Why put a horse in a small trailer , if you know it’s going to hurt the poor horse.🇮🇪☘️🙏✝️🎂

4 hours 8both ways in a single day) in a too short trailer? Shame on the defendants

Buying a horse through Craigslist, that can only ever end well.

If the horse was called into court, Lucky wouldn’t have a leg to stand on.

So she wants 2 different people to pay her for the same horse?? She's not losing anything because someone else bought it. Reimburse the lady!

The defendant’s mom should have used this as a learning experience for her daughter in contracts and legal obligations. Instead she defended their actions and her daughter learned nothing except to play the victim when you lose a court case because of your own actions.

The defendants were negligent and cruel to put a horse in a trailer that is too small for it. They injured the horse by doing that.

It's just like if you buy a lamp online, and if it gets damaged or broken during shipping you can return it for a new one or get your money back. The plaintif shouldn't have to pay transportation costs for a defendant who didn't transport the horse properly.

If you charge money to transport a horse you'd better transport it correctly and safely.

The defendant should be charged with animal cruelty for making the horse ride 4 hours in a trailer they knew was too small for it. They injured the horse.

A horse for $700? I'm not a horse person but that seems cheap for a horse. That would be a red flag for me.

Shady defendants. They wanted to keep the plaintiffs money despite the fact they already resold the horse . They wanted double money for the same horse . What nonsense. Willing to bet they never told the new owner there was a problem . Never buy off Craigslist unless you are positive of what you are getting

She resold the horse so she would've gotten paid twice anyways!!!

The older the horse the cheaper the sale price, The bigger the vet bills. Horses can get stiff with being in a trailer or stall. Horses are not suppose to be fat and overweight. That causes more issues. But never ever buy a horse without a vet check. There are hundreds of things that can be wrong. If you're getting a horse for a disabled child or adult you need to be very selective and GO see the horse multiple times with the person its for to even see if the horse and person like each other. I was raised with horses, over 30 years of being around them. They can step on a rock bruise the bottom of the hoof and have issues. Its always something with horses.

Buying a horse site unseen? STUPID.. I had horses and shopped online for them, sellers lied ALL THE TIME. You have to see the horse, the main rider has to ride the horse, vet checks, would recommend going back several times. Owners new what I was looking for; a rock steady beginner horse; drive and saw horses that bucked, reared, hadn’t been saddled in ages, hadn’t been out of the pasture in ages, were barn sour, way more advanced than my skill level. The list goes on and on, put on a lot of miles to find the right horse and when we sold him, the new owner came from western North Dakota for him and may son’s pony went to someone on the Canadian border. It is what you do if you have very specific requirements like this lady; go down try it, then pay them to deliver..

Common sense don't buy anything including animals before actually seeing them first

So instead of getting the doctor you re sold the horse and the new buyers probably only took the horse because they felt bad for it. That’s why they don’t wanna show the new vet report
