For me, it actually didn’t cause any buildup in my hair and it helped my hair grow a little longer. I think it’s mainly the amount you use in your hair, cause I only used it with a sponge.

Interesting. I've been using this stuff on my dreads for 13+ years and I've never had this issue. Maybe it's because I use a small amount to relock my dreads but...my hair has been great. Is someone has a better alternative, I'd love to see it. :)

I love Jocelyn’s content and her locs. I believe she combined slightly smaller locs using the instant loc method and they turned out perfectly. She used to have sisterlocs years ago, took those down and went for this look which I think suits her.

I don't use anything like that, just homemade spray and oils. Been free forming past couple years now. As you said natural as possible is the way! My partner was getting their haircut the other day and the woman was actually trying to convince me to use wax, I feel sorry for anyone that goes to her for dreads 🥺

Products like these I feel like are ok to use every now and again. Maybe for a special occasion( wedding party etc etc)to take away some frizz. If you use it daily you’re going to regret it in the long run. IMO

I’ve been using this product for over a year and I have no inner lock buildup. I wash my hair every 2 weeks.

Same thing happened to my locs a few years ago, stopped using this mango and lime product and now using something more natural. no more buildup in my locs now.

We have to remember that we don’t comb our hair so whatever products we put in our locs, STAYS in our locs. Thats the root cause of product buildup.
