this is sadly not that unique no matter how tragic. there are old to modern cultures that would wait till the body of a woman is rotting before the families would willingly let the body go outside the family's walls because corpse dessacration in that way was, and still is, a real thing

There was a doctor in real life (I can't remember his name now) who stole a corpse of his patient because he was in love with her and he kept it beside him in his bed, he had sex with it and he lived with it for years until his neighbours saw him dancing with it by the window and that's how he got discovered. The most disturbing information I've ever learned. They never revealed where they buried her corpse after they returned it from him.
