Yuji Itadori is now finally a Special-Grade or at least he’s fighting on the Special-Grade level, since he’s entered Shinjuku it’s been on everyone's mind. He’s got a Cursed-Technique finally along with the ability to perform Reverse Cursed-Technique. He’s completely leveled up his mastery over the soul and can even attack the space between Sukuna and Megumi’s. While a month before, no one would’ve questioned Yuji’s placement alongside the rest of the Grade ones. Aside from being recommended as a Grade one candidate, Yuji’s comparisons to other Grade One Sorcerer’s like Nanami and Kusakabe along with Todo’s ability to keep up with Yuji even after Black-Flash despite being a Grade 1 himself made it pretty clear. While stronger than most, Yuji Itadori never made it out of that Grade 1 tier. When Yuji had gone up against Special-Grade Sorcerer’s, they were all clearly out of his league. Kenjaku had Yuji on his knees within moments. Although Yuji had Black-Flashed, pushing him to 120% of his potential, he was still left grovoling on the ground. Against Yuta, while Yuji could keep up better than most predicted, he still literally died. When fighting alongside Maki Zenin against Sukuna back when he reached 15 fingers of his original power. Maki’s gotta ask Yuji before she decides it’s time to speed up because she probably knows he just can’t, but that's not even the worst part. He’s clearly on the losing end of every interaction, he gets tagged at times where Maki simply doesn't. Against Hakari he’s forced to sit through a literal beating, even before he gives up on trying to dodge Hakari’s punches Yuji still gets caught in his technique and pummeled. None of those I just mentioned are weak by any means and in fact it’s the opposite completely, the point is while Yuji is clearly strong he was not there yet. But although Yuji clearly couldn't stand them before, things have clearly changed. In the last month before this battle in Shinjuku, Yuji’s been getting ready. He’s back at his best, Yuji’s at the strongest we’ve ever seen him. While before Sukuna never even considered him worth killing, Yuji was the first of Jujutsu High's reinforcements to enter the front lines. He’s been keeping up with Yuta even inside his Domain-Expansion, while before he was the Special-Grade capable of killing Yuji. He’s taking on Sukuna, the one who before saw Yuji as nothing Special and laughed in his face. With his improvements to his arsenal and overall power, in this video I’ll be going over if Yuji Itadori has reached the Special-Grade level. From what the manga tries to portray, Yuji & a few other characters has Special Grade level destruction/fight capabilities but can't be classified as such due to their inability to wrestle a country alone!!!

Honestly giving someone like Yuji RCT was the biggest buff you could give him. Yuji could already fight through more pain then damn near any other character in the series now that he can heal himself bro is actually a tank.

This combined with the fact that every punch he lands drops your curse energy means that in a battle of attrition unless you have Sukuna levels of curse energy you're probably gonna gas out before he does and god forbid one of those is a black flash.

Overall I'd say Yuji does now qualify for the special grade tier with what we've seen him show so far.

I feel like the problem that Special grade is too broad to be used to accurately describe a sorcerers power. Yuji IS a special grade, but he's nowhere close to the other special grades, and that is what causes disagreements. The special grade tier is simply too broad.

Yuta's ability to copy any technique is absolutely absurd. Yuki makes black holes. Geto had like 6000 curses in his control. And then Gojo shoots lasers, can't be touched and has nearly unlimited energy. How can a fist fighter, even if they are becoming indestructible, compare to them?

The gap in skill between grade 4-3-2-1 sorcerers seems pretty linear, but then all the special grades we see are like 10 grades beyond grade 1. Like seriously think about how there's just SO much room between someone like Grade 1 Nanami or Naobito to Special Grade Geto and Yuta. There's this giant gap between the two, and I think this makes people forget that to be special grade, you don't need to be Yuki, Geto, Yuta or Gojo strong.

In the early chapters, we see that generally, a sorcerers grade means they win against a curse of the same level. So a grade 1 sorcerer is stronger than a grade 1 curse, who is stronger than a grade 2 sorcerer and so on. It doesn't seem unreasonable to assume that Special grade sorcerers are stronger than special grade curses. And given that current Yuji has the potential to beat pretty much every disaster curse, I think that alone means it's fair to give him title of Special Grade. We still need to see a domain answer, but right now he's not just beating finger special grades. He has the potential of beating the heavy hitters of the specials, and that does it for me. With RCT, he can even probably overthrow some small nations, so I don't think it's a crazy title to give him at all.

Again though, the problem is that while special grade might start at, let's say, Grade -1, it doesn't have a ceiling. Nanami is grade 1 because he is a top tier fighter. Comparatively Yuji is now a BETTER fighter PLUS has healing PLUS blood hardening PLUS blood projectile PLUS blood explosions PLUS soul shenanigans. I'd say that together makes Yuji like a grade -5. In comparison though, Yuta is probably like a grade -10 with Rika, better RCT, Domain and technique copy. Meanwhile Gojo is Grade -100 and idk, is Sukuna like Grade -200? Getting into DBZ style power scaling, but you should see the problem here: hey're all in the same category, but not close in ability.

Special grade just needs more designations, and this could be avoided. There should be a 'supreme special grade' for the god level powers of Gojo and Sukuna exclusively. Regular special grade title could then go to the ones with wildly crazy techniques like Yuta, Yuki and Geto. The likes of Yuji, Hakari, Choso, (and in terms of power, Maki and Toji) should then have a different title like Semi Special Grade. These are top tier, nearly indestructable fighters, but are at the end of the day, all just still technically fighters. They're great at fighting sorcerers, but there's just no way someone throwing fists should be in the same tier as someone making black holes. The 'semi' special grades just lack the cataclysmic oof of our classified Special Grades.

Regardless, given the current grading system, Yuji, is deserving of Special Grade. Thank you for coming to my ted talk.

With RCT yuji has gotten rid off the main weakness of blood manipulation. He has mastered convergence, flowing red scale stack and can overwhelm sukunas soul. Our boi is a special grade

If not sheer destructive ability (Gojo, Sukuna, Yuki) then unlimited potential for growth seems to be the mark for special grades.

Yuta and his copy ability, Geto and his ability to store unlimited curses, even Yaga and his ability to potentially stockpile an army of cursed puppets. Yuji and his ability to eat just about any cursed object to gain power from them would fit right in with the other special grade stockpile/growth types.

Im pretty sure he's also got infinite rct at least while he's biting himself and using Noratoshi's circulation technique, by continually eating sukuna's cursed energy infused into his body and using rct to make more blood.
So Yuji might've poisoned himself over eating and choso might be teaching him how to heal it.
