Qantas International First Lounge: The Ultimate Luxury Experience

What is the Qantas International First Lounge in Melbourne like? Is it Luxury Redefined? Or a naff Business Lounge Knock Off?

Because, if you’ve been through British Airways First Wing at Heathrow Terminal 5, you’ll know the feeling of being treated like a VIP, with a check in area partitioned off from the masses with an exclusive security lane that takes you directly to the First Lounge.

But that’s where the feeling ends, with the BA First lounge having more of a commoditised business class feel over first-class exclusivity.

In this video I’ll show you around the Qantas International Fist lounge, another Oneworld Emerald status lounge, and you can see how it stacks up against the British Airways First Lounge offering.

I hope you enjoyed this years trip to Melbourne, sorry the weather has been pretty rubbish, although at least you didn't get flooded out up on the Gold Coast! Something funky has been going on with the Victorian summers the past few years sadly. With my Qantas Club membership a long past experience I doubt I'll get to enjoy these lounges unless I win the lotto or get a magical upgrade 🤣

Really fantastic review mate. You were direct, and straight to the point, gave us views and explained the layout and options well. These are the reviews I enjoy, no fluffy stuff or voiceovers from people with high egos. Great work. Subscribed!

Nice review of this Lounge Phil! I managed to get a visit into the Qantas Lounges at LHR and SYD (International) on my trip to Australia, their lounges seems nice enough.

If I'm ever in Singapore airport transiting I always visit the QF First Class lounge even if I'm flying BA or other one world. Fantastic

That lounge is easily the best domestic lounge in Australia, perhaps in the world

Nice review, Phil. I've only used the one in SYD, and it is also better than the Flounge. I used the J lounge last time, and it was okay.
This is where the rubber meets the road. A decent meal in pleasant surroundings before a long flight makes you think about those extra 900 TPs. If you were going down there more frequently (and using lounges in HKG/DOH/SIN), it would be worth it.

Looks a terrific lounge. Wish it wasn't on the other side of the world...! But a motivation to get back out to Australia. Dessert wine with dessert is something i only discovered recently and it is a great choice. I wonder how the Business lounge is there.

If Qantas, BA and CX goes the way of Qatar where only their top lounges are restricted to their First Class (Al Safwa lounge) and Business Class (Al Mourjan North and Al Mourjan Garden) and status holders in Economy are direct to their more generic lounges, would you still want to retain OWE? or just stick with OWS?

I have not been to Australia. But I would like to visit. Our flan does not have pastry. I enjoy your reviews as you have a calm, friendly demeanor. Josh Cahill, I find irritating.
