Clairo joins Matt Wilkinson in the studio to mark the release of her new album, Charm.

Clairo reveals that the title of the album comes from the feelings that come up when charming someone, or what it feels like to be charmed. She dives into her collaboration on the album with Leon Michels and how natural, fresh, and new the process felt. She also shares her experience revisiting older work, her experience with peers like Frank Ocean and Billie Eilish, and her thoughts on Charli xcx's "The girl, so confusing version with lorde."

I like this interviewer, but I don't like how much he asks Clairo about other, "bigger" artists. When he asks Clairo which big musicians she shared her recent album with, if she would collaborate with the biggest artists on the planet, or what her thoughts were on the Lorde/ Charli XCX song, it seems like he's fishing for a soundbite instead of asking Clairo about her own creative process. She's only here for 20 minutes, I wish he asked more about her and her new album

Based on a lot of the songs that she’s been playing on NTS over the past years, I am not surprised that the record came out the way it did. It’s so good and I can totally see where her inspiration comes from in recording and all things. It is very unique and feels very real. Live laugh clairo

i feel like this album is so full circle for her, in interviews in the past and nts she's always talked abt her love for 70s music and a lot of soul and instrumental sounds, also hearing that she went back on soundcloud stuff was so nice. i do feel like this album really does bring forward her quintessential sound, whereas even though i enjoy sling and immunity i do feel like she was still trying to appease the "business" side of being a musician. i'm glad she's going back to her roots and also doing something fresh and she seems SO much more confident and happy
