Lenovo TAB 2 A10 Tablet Review - Low cost Android tablet with 10.1 inch IPS display - A10-70F

Its single best feature is the display. It's IPS, 1920x1200, and comes in at 218 pixels per inch. It's on par with the 'retina' displays that are found on the iPads. It's also a little nicer to read in portrait configuration as the 1920x1200 display is a little wider on the vertical vs. a standard 1080 display.

This is a good tablet for casual users. It's not much of a gaming device although it will run casual games well. The higher end stuff will lag but that's to be expected on a device like this.

Who is this for? A casual tablet user that doesn't want to spend twice as much on an iPad. It's more than adequate for web browsing, video watching, etc. The display is great and the battery life will be comparable to the iPad and other higher end tablets.

I bought mine towards the end of February directly from Lenovo. It already had Lollipop installed and no issues. Love this tablet!!

Great review, just saw this tablet advertised at BestBuy for $199.99 price is right and I am glad you included shots of the pictures you took, they look decent for the price. most people use their tablets for email, facebook and candy crush. Again, thanks for the review.

Hi, Lon,
I wish more people reviewing things on YouTube did half as good a job as you!
Excellent review, full of exactly the sort of information potential buyers want to know together with plenty of clear shots of the item in action.
I've found a very good deal for this tablet here in the UK and your review has convinced me to buy it!
Best wishes.

Literally all I want this tablet for is to read comic books (mostly via Comixology), so the screen is the most important thing. I think 10 inches and the resolution will do nicely, it should certainly look better than my aging Toshiba Thrive.

Thank you for the review, I just bought it and hope it will last. Just one questions, what kind of video player you recommend on Android device? Is VLC a good choice?

This is my first tablet and I love it. listening to audio on it feels alive. Although after the lollipop update the sound kinda decreases defaultly. But adjustments to the Dolby will fix it. It plays games smooth(Gta San Andreas) . Fast processor. Do NOT use the dynamic contrast it'll make media look choppy and too bright kinda. I love how this tablet can last all day. only thing I wish this tablet had was hdmi port and nfc. Plus more storage.

Several other review sites also mention that this Lenovo tablet now features the Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system, but the Amazon web page you have linked above states that the OS is KitKat 4.4 -- in fact, every online retailer I have found so far lists KitKat in their specifications (including the Lenovo site). While your review tablet was borrowed from Lenovo, I'm hoping that Amazon is selling the Lollipop version. It may be that they simply haven't updated their spec sheet, yet.

anyone watching this in 2020, I've had this tablet for years, it actually is still really good it's not upgraded but if you find one for cheap it still runs all the streaming services

Great review! This is a very nice tablet. I first saw it online at amazon.com for 179.99 and now they have it at Walmart for the same price. But I was just curious about something, how do you get to the stock Web browser? I see you were using Chrome in the review and I tested out the display they had at Walmart but I couldn't locate the stock Web browser. I'm thinking about buying this as a gift.

Just a terrific job, Lon. Just want I wanted. Good production values..well thought out and presented..without all the bloat and amateurish egotistic crap that's so prevalent...thanks so much...

Best tablet for the price, trust me! the battery lasts almost all day AND NIGHT!! the resolution is beautiful 1080p is more than enough and the speakers are even better! feels like I'm inside the video because of the surround sound, I'm buying another one soon because the one i have now the screen is cracked because i dropped it down the stairs (concrete stairs) 😭

Great review as always. One touch-point that might be nice if you are going to do more Android tablets would be Kodi now that it's in the Play Store.

Another quick question: would you be able to plug an RJ-45 ethernet dongle into the USB port for a hard-wired Internet connection? Thanks again for your fine review...

I cant find another tablet with better value, is this still the best tablet for 150 or under? Almost everything else i find for that price has low resolution.

Can you please update us on Wifi issues on lollipop? That's the only reason I'm not buying it yet. EVERYONE is talking about wifi drops.

I am seriously considering buying this tablet but I keep reading in amazon reviews that the sound on the tab2 a10 is bad even through headphones and is very quiet and max volume. This would be a deal breaker for me so I would like to get some input as to how the quality is and how loud it gets through headphones . Also I read that the dolby atmos app conflicts with some music players such as rocket player which I use daily on my other android devices.
Also, how is the wifi reception?
