Riding Hawk's Nest | Front Camera vs. Helmet Camera

Which view do you prefer, and why?

Today's meandering brought me to Hawk's Nest--a section of Route 97 along the upper Delaware River just north of Port Jervis, NY.

I thought this would be a good place to test two different camera locations for future rides. I rode this section with both cameras running and synced them up for an easy comparison.

On the left, we have the view from a camera mounted on the front of the bike.
On the right, we have the view from a camera mounted on my helmet.

Let me know in the comments.

While both have their place, as a motorcycle rider, I prefer viewing the helmet cam perspective as it provides more of the "feel" of riding and let's you see the speed and other dashboard instruments too.

I had to watch this a few times to fully form an opinion, but I think I’m Team Front Camera. Eric makes an excellent point as a motorcycle rider but as a non-rider, I’m into the scenery. The helmet view distracted me and I missed what was going on outside the instruments.

Having shot many miles, including Hawks Nest, from both bike and chin-mount, I'm goin to go with "both".
Agree that non-riders want to see scenery and riders want the POV perspective.
Answer: Getting an Insta360 for the best of all worlds!

PS: would LOVE to know how you did such a great split-screen.
I have tried to figure it out but didn't have great success on my last video.
