Thanks for featuring the 84 corvette. I also have a medium metallic blue 84 corvette only has 60k miles and runs perfectly. The crossfire engine is reliable if you do not mess with it. It is essentially a throttle body injection system with two separate throttle body that feeds fuel through the special intake manifold to the cylinders opposite to their placement. The 205 hp is in line with sports cars of that era because of stricter emmissions. What is nice is it has a reliable chevy 350 small block engine that puts out respectable torque of 290. Engine parts are easy to find and reasonably priced unlike porsche 928's of that time period. The things that generally require work are electrical gremlins such as power windows, seats.switches, digital dash. The amplifiers on the bose system generally give out as well but replace parts are available, but hey it is a 36-37 year old car.

I have been able to fix the lights, wiper and Atari dash problems.
Its a jet, and w/18, 800 miles it's barely broken in 🥳

What makes that particular car so epic is the cloth seats. I have the same car with leather in an 85.

The 83 had the same engine. And they carry it over to the 84. My 84 was delivered to the dealership 04/83.

I bought my 84 Corvette last October but because I live in Canada I'm finally starting to enjoy it. Great shots on the canyon roads, I'd love to drive those some day. I agree the ride is a little stiff but it corners so well it's worth it. Not to mention all the other cool 80's touches.

One question, what size and make tire are you running on the car? I need new tires and I want to keep the original wheels.

Nice vid, I am actually looking forward to buy a C4 myself and found some '84 models out there worth seeing, I was wondering if the crossfire injection has any particularity when shopping for C4s as this is the only year they used it, although the look of the newer engines is more "sporty". This one you reviewed seems brand new, congrats & thanks for the info!

They didn't get rid of Z51 after 84, just softened the spring rates.

The ZO7 spring rates in 91 were stiffer than 84 Z51

The coilovers in my Callaway Supernatural are stiffer again.

I have an 84 in the workshop now that looks exactly like yours, but it has leather. 84s are a great Corvette, despite what the haters say.

I picked up an 84 for $3000. Put a quickie paint job on it, new tires and shocks and a carpet and I have a fun, cheap motor. It’s a stick with the Standard suspension but it’s a great handling car.
