Diane von Furstenberg Spring 2015

NEW YORK — “You know, same old, same old, six-inch heels,” said Binx with a grin and a roll of the eyes, wearing a cotton jacket, crisp poplin bra top and skirt as she lined up for the Diane von Furstenberg Spring 2015 ready-to-wear show at Spring Studio Sunday afternoon. That six-inch heel? It’s actually what the house describes as a “small black and white gingham textile vera sandal,” but is a heel to the rest of us. Still, though, the designer dubbed this collection Riviera and would require someone sore of vision to not immediately apprehend its beauty as being from someplace otherworldly and more enchanting than the grid surrounding the Holland Tunnel. Riviera, on the afternoon, realized on the runway by Isabeli Fontana, Suvi Koponen, Shu-Pei Qin, Hedvig Palm, and the aforementioned Binx.
