You should be proud! This was really good :D Also I feel weirdly proud of how incredibly articulate you were throughout. Obviously your English has always been completely fluent, but it feels like you're now really comfortable with the language in a way you maybe weren't a year or so ago, which is amazing!

Advice - put the time to Relaxed if you don’t want to feel rushed. You can make it all over town to unlock the travel points with it

I have to respectfully disagree on the 3rd person camera angle issue. For me, it helps with immersion so, so much. It really reminds me of my childhood in countryside Japan! I hope this game does incredibly well and we get more like it.

Well done Felix! If anyone is interested in the original game Boku no Natsuyasumi I cannot recommend Tim Rogers' Action Button video essay on it highly enough, it's a long beautiful work of art!

Love these games! A bit bummed to hear that my worry about the non-fixed environments does seem to be warranted, but still a must grab for me! Thanks, Felix!

Honestly... Shin-Chan's beautiful hand-painted backgrounds look just like that - they're so beautiful that they look staged rather than real, so it's hard for me to get into the same extent of immersion. The older Boku titles had much more subtle, realistic visuals. I also found it very difficult to figure out my way around the geography of Shin-chan with the angles constantly switching around. So while the visuals may not be perfect, I actually am really looking to this different camera system as it'll feel a lot more freeform. The simplistic graphics sort of make it feel like an older game which is fine by me.

While I agree with the negatives, the sound is really on point so that does a lot of heavy lifting, and the openness is actually kinda great so ultimately I think it’s a worthy trade off.

I love this Game a easy 9/10 from me. The Art Style is great, everywhere is something to discover and so much to do. The Performance on the switch don't bothers me personally.

frame drops are shocking in the demo, feels rough, will still play it!

So I got curious if this game was on Steam, and it is! It actually came out a month or so ago on there, and it runs at 60fps and looks really good on PC and steam deck. Just figured I’d point this out in case anyone else was wanting it like I was but didn’t want the muddy textures and low fps the switch version has.

As a Felix myself, i say greatly done Felix!

I Love the graphics. I have the japanese boxed Version, bought in Tokyo Last year and could never really Play because of the language and never thought IT will come to the West. I Love Love Love this Game ❤❤

Good Job Felix! For the next time: add a bit of your own experience. Did you enjoy the game on a personal level? What did you like and didn't you like. And what part of that was personal subjective opinion. In this review you maintain a more technical, objective approach. Which works fine. But add your personal experience and the content gets even better.

great video. but, in a matter of taste, i much prefer the 3d open world because it allows for true exploration, instead of just going down paths with the (albeit beautifully) pre-rendered camera angles.
