Xbox One vs. PS4 - Camera and Headset Audio Comparison

We went into party chat on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 to see which headset and camera had the best audio quality.

Xbox One's headset and Kinect are CLEARLY better than the PS4's headset and Camera. But, I can't wait until Xbox gives us the adapter so that I can use my Turtle Beach. Either that, or I might get a new one. Depends on my financial expenses when it releases. But I am perfectly fine with using the Xbox One headset for a month or two for now.

Dude the audio quality of the ps4 is just horrible compared to xbox one audio, and with the PS eye is even more worse i just heard noise there i barely could hear that guy talking... But yeah this the greatness of the PS4 after all huh

Wow this was a huge bummer. Sony, you hade one job. It dosen't matter if you get a good gaming headset. If your friends still roll with the earbud It won't matter. They are still gonna sound like shit.

PS4 has the same Bluetooth technology and chat audio quality of last generation. Xbox decided to go with WiFi Direct which has 20 times the bandwidth of last generation and use a new codec that was used with Skype to double the quality of the chat audio it should sound a lot better...

honestly i won't be using the stupid headphones mics that the ps4 comes with. I am pluging in my turtle beach headset for better audio and sounds quality. So pretty much this video is comparing An Good fresh apple to an rotten apple. An ok good headset vs a headphones mic. Seriously... lol

the reason no music is heard on xbox is because the kinect mutes all but the person that it recognizes, case you guys are wondering...and it does it automatically as it is integrated into it

While the XBOX ONE headset has better audio quality, neither of the stock headsets are good enough. Do yourself (and your community) a favor and pick up a proper headset like the Astro A40, Astro A50, PS Pulse, Turtle Beach, or something in that direction. If you've never had one before, you'll be in for a treat. Guaranteed.

PS4 fan all the way but the mics are really fucken shitty. But guys we should wait until we're able to use our pre-gen headsets on your next gen consoles. They're undoubtedly better than all 4 mics here. Obviously Sony and Microsoft just wants us to atleast be able to chat online until they update the systems. XBOX ONES mic is better though!

The one thing that they don't mention, is that the included headset for the Xbox console is the only headset you can use currently. You can plug in ANY headphones with a microphone into the PS4 controller for chat.

Sony ponies don't want to accept that XboxOne is months and months of dissing XboxOne and XboxOne hasn't had a reported issue YET BY THIS TIME OF LAUNCH PS4 had reported issues and these are facts now who's laughing now Sony ponies....

gotta say, they both sounded terrible but the kinect is definitively better than the PS camera. I'd like to see a comparison of a good headset with a decent mic on both consoles. I feel that's the real test.

If it was the XBOX One that had a shitty headset, everyone would be hating. But when its PS4 that has a shitty headset they just say: ''Nahh, won´t use the headset anyways.

I have the PS4, and honestly the mic isn't that bad. This video is not only compressing audio but it also has background music, and people talking in the background which you can't hear at first but if you listen closely there is. 

From my experience with the PS4 the mic isn't bad in any way, although Xbox One's mic may be a little better there really isn't much of a difference. Anyways, happy gaming everyone whether you get PS4 or Xbox One!!!!

I'm actually surprised the xbox headset is less clear than that cheap PS4 earpiece. Then again the PS4 sounds kind of distant. Obviously the PS4 camera sounds atrocious lol.

I use a snowball Mic for online because its nearly studio quality. But I am disappointed in the ps4 camera. I would be willing to pay $100 for it if they actually made a version for 2014 and not for 2006 lol

To put it into perspective, if you are into online multiplayer games get xbox, if you are into RPG, adventure, indie and sony exclusives get ps4. There is no need to compare the two on everything. It all comes down to preference.

Wow. I'm shocked at how well using Kinect for chat sounds! I didn't expect it to be THAT clear and crisp, It almost sounds better than the Xbox One headset!
