You asked what inks we are obsessed with lately, and that would be Wearingeul 'Path' (shimmer), KWZ 'Honey' (shading) (with a tiny bit of white lightning), and Iroshizuku 'Kon Peki' (sheen). Those 3 inks are making my heart sing for several months now.

Something you said especially resonated with me: that you like the shimmer and ink color to be similar. That wad exactly what I was feeling about a recent ink. It sort of felt like the shimmer was competing with the ink’s base color and they didn’t look that good together.

Thanks so much for sharing your experience with these inks. I think that Diamine celebration looks so beautiful! I really love that slightly muted orange/coral shade. And I have to admit, i'm a big sucker for blues and i love dominant industry. Maybe this is me making excuses but I actually found the concept of the shimmer only showing in indirect/dim lighting to be really beautiful! For some reason it reminds me of like a mermaid shimmering in the water or something.

Great Review of the colors for last month. And yes TWSBI ECO's are frustrating when it comes to cleaning. I am not a fan of having to opening up the pen beyond usual just to clean all the parts.

Great video! Love the in-depth explanations you give. My fave pen and ink combo so far has been my TWSBI Diamond 580 Iris with Organic Studios Frog Green Shimmer (be still my beating heart for that “frog”) I’m now finding that although I like shimmer inks, some of the pen pairings are not liking me.

Btw, I didn’t start out my Currently Inked journey pairing ink colour with pen body. I tended to go with what colours I’m feeling and the pens I want to write with that month. Plus my pen collection is still small (but mighty!) and right now I have many repeaters from month to month. I figure it’s a great way to test out new inks WOTY the same pens (which are less expensive to get in samples than the pens that are filling up my want list). So much so that now I’m keeping a spreadsheet 🤣

yes, your thoughts around 2 minutes express my feelings on shimmer... I recently tried Wearingeul path and it has to be one of my favorite inks. Much more flashy but the gold accents are amazing. You may be onto something about how the shimmer particle complimenting the ink can kick it up. I'm curious about your Colorverse Nebula ink... but I have something similar Wearingeul Macbeth... I dont know if it's my bad luck w/ shimmer but your nebula looks better. That being said Path is amazing!

month end battle of the pens and inks! 😂 it takes real willpower to decide anything goes in your sailor stellar black hole! matchy matchy is hard to stop. since you love purples, have you tried dominant industry manschurian violet? it’s such a gorgeous purple with nice shading. i had to put it away in order to stop using it in every pen. thanks to you, i just added matin to my cart. hopefully, it will be perfect in my sailor pg every rose has its thorn. dominant industry is one of my favorite brands. do you have iroshizuki yama budo? it’s my current obsession. thanks for another fun video! i always enjoy your content. 😊

If you think Opera Rose is too orange, I think you might want to check out Laban Aphrodite. I have a sample of Teranishi Opera Rose and a bottle of Laban Aphrodite Pink and Opera Rose is definitely more orange/salmon whereas Aphrodite leans a tad bit more towards a brownish "antique rose" kind of color. I usually use EF nibs and Aphrodite always looks pink but with wetter nibs it can look really brown.

P.S. Not gonna lie, every time I see that Sailor Pro Gear Black Hole in your thumbnail I scream a little inside. Ever since I started this hobby almost two years ago that exact pen has been on my wishlist. Two years!!! But sadly I can't justify the price. I'm holding back from buying pens for now but if things continue this way, I might end up buying it as a christmas gift for myself. (If there are any left!)
