I like how both the raccoons felt it necessary to knock down the camera each time they passed it

The trouble with timing Cats in a box maze is that cats like to spend HOURS sitting in boxes.

Its funny how the raccoons take longer the second time 'cause they decide to do a more thorough exploration the second time around.

Considering that ferrets were bred for ferreting - getting rats out of their burrows, I'm not surprised that they were so good.
Being a cat owner, I'm not surprised that the cats just didn't give a frak.

All the cats were just like “Why did you trap us in this prison, Father?” Meanwhile the one ferret was having a swell ol time going around and around.

Raccoons are deviously smart bastards... and adorable ...

Seems to me like the raccoon's second rounds were both explorations to see if there was an alternate route.

I think any cat owner knew the cats would be last. They were thinking, oh, this is where I am. I'll just lay down and take a nap until my servants decide to bring me something.

The way the noodle seemed to "learn" the maze makes me think it was following its own scent trail. When your nose is 1 inch off the ground that seems like it would be easy.

I kinda feel like the cats were just like "oh, you want me to do something, how about no"

Depends how you measure intelligence...
Some would say the ferrets were the most intelligent because they found their way out fastest. But they also like to run around tunnels and explore, and would be bound to come across the exit quickly regardless of if they were even looking for it.
Some would say the cats are smartest of all because they refuse to even play the human's game and know they will be retrieved and fed eventually without any effort on their part.
I personally think the raccoons were the cleverest, as they were the only ones who seemed to understand it was a puzzle with a food reward at the end and got increasingly faster times through learning.

Normal people: why would you put a ferret a cat and a raccoon in a maze?

This guy: *my goals are beyond your understanding*

Raccoons: "I took that personally"

Cheeto easily would have won if he didn't allow himself 10 seconds to demolish the camera every single time =)

I love how the cat is just observing from above at 2:37

It takes cats longer as they like small confined spaces, so they wouldn't bother to move as much

Cats: Nah, just gonna wait until Hooman comes with food to make me wanna leave.

First time: Try to get out
Second time: Thoroughly explore
Third time: Speedrun

Fascinating experiment! Of course doesn't really prove anything they're all smart. Cats are like "I'm not playing" ferrets are like "I am playing!" raccoons are like"Ok I explored it now FOOD!"

My wife and I have always thought "you cats aint too smart" but then they prove us wrong by demonstrating that if they F-around long enough we'll just give them what they want.
