There was one exactly like you described in 2021 named "Magic legends". Heard that servers were shut down approximately 2 months after release, so something must have gone wrong. But the gameplay was like you described: play and fight as a planeswalker in an "open" world.

I remember there being a demo for an RPG-Style video game at PAX East a few years ago. Don't know what happened to it, but maybe if the movie/TV show goes well, we'll get other kinds of media for the game.

I grew up on the GBA Yu-Gi-Oh games and remember them (mostly) fondly.

If we’re talking more of a story driven idea, I think a Kingdom Hearts model could be great. Imagine going from plane to plane interacting with the story at different beats.

Otherwise a Pokémon Legends style game might be fun to explore specific story arcs (Bros War, War do the Spark, etc)

I would be so down that one of the main things I would have prepared is tactical nukes just to have the chance!
In all video gaming It is.
Card games that have not been represented to the point that video game Companies don't know what their gold mines are.
