OK, I've done this on accident one time and can't get away from this technique. I paralell compress vocals hard and this brings back the human feel to the vocal and takes away the processing. I used pro MB on a master in the mid frequencies and started playing with it and when I realized the mids became more playful and prominent I focused of the MB and added tweaks to each band.

It also helps balance out room noice on louder recordings. You can also change the dynamic energy brought through a recording, making it more Mellow or more exadurated.

This technique has many other uses as well if you produce instruments with samples. Your mix can go from good to "who mix this" with 4 bands and some specific range saturation quick

Oh try splitting the master into middle information and side information. Route them both to their own inserts and route both of those to a single insert to preserve individual levels. And then start playing with the side information.

This technique paired with side separation will liven up your music so much it's insane, 3d space with sounds is unreal
