A showdown is brewing in Venezuela over the results of this weekend's presidential election. The opposition, led by candidate Edmundo Gonzalez, has claimed victory despite the government declaring incumbent President Nicolas Maduro the winner.

It says that Maduro won by 7% points but has not yet released the results from polling stations, which is raising concerns among other nations, including the United States.
