I am going brought a stage where a lot of ppl call an art block where you can’t find the inspiration to draw anything. I heavily wanted to go to an art university but I just let that inner voice tell me, you’re too weak, you’re bad at this, and other unnecessary voices blocking me down. I heard this and oh boy, have I just got the courage and the excitement that from now and to the 5-6 years that I have to practice, I can be the artist I aspire. This really helped me out and thought me that being successful is an obstacle and one of the obstacles is practicing and failing to start over again and be better.THANK YU

My family told me to quit doing art. It was a waste of time. It'd never take me anywhere. I never gave in and although I have battled depression most of my life, I've never given up on my goal to become a traveling artist. I've never earned a dime from my art, but I've spent the last five years travelling and building my portfolio, and feel truly blessed to be living out my childhood dreams. Most people don't even realize their dreams, but because I chose to not let other people change my mindset, I have been living mine for over five years and counting.

What really keeps me going is that whenever I finish drawing something, no matter how good or bad it is, I tell myself I can do better. Even if it’s the best thing I’ve ever drawn, I can do better. It’s a perfect phrase because
a) it’s uplifting because you’re telling yourself that you have the skill to improve
b) when you reach your goal, you don’t stop trying. You can ALWAYS do better!

I went from being a high school graduate stuck in my room making excuses for myself to a college art student. I will transfer to a university and I will succeed. I am looking forward to my upcoming art field trip.

I watch this video every time I feel like I should just give up and not pick up a pencil or pen again and tear my work apart... But after I watch this I get motivation to keep going and try to block out that inner voice that says you can't, and follow my heart and dreams. Thank you for this video.

I've been doing Art since I learned how to hold a pencil. I started out because I thought my older sister was always so good at drawing at my age and I wanted to be like her, so I started drawing. During those times I never really drew stick people I drew fat people so it was already showing that I was going to be good at drawing. And I loved my Art classes in school, always got A's. I always focused on the details so a lot of my work was unfinished and that was fine. Now, 2018 I get to frustrated at drawing I give up easily. Then I remembered was my sisters drawing looked liked in my eyes when I was younger compared to now... It showed that I grew as an Artist and I can do it. It was thanks to my sister that I started and grew up to be a better artist then her, and I hear nice comments from people about my drawings and it gives me strength and hope that I can do it... I just need inspiration once and awhile.
