Wonderful interview with Ruth Reichl. I was inspired to make lunch while watching — pork chops with mustard, white wine and capers, basmati rice and broccoli—accompanied by my favorite white wine Picpoul de Pinet. I’m looking forward to the future of eating out again. Thanks for the upbeat predictions, Ruth!

Rudy Maxa and Ruth Reichl--that's clickbait for me! I'm reading "Save Me the Plums" right now and the next chapter is "Severine" so thanks for the sneak preview! Really enjoyed the chat between you two--I've read several of Ruth's books and watched many of Rudy's shows on tv. It will indeed be interesting to see what happens on the restaurant scene in the future--especially in NYC. I know the pandemic has certainly affected the real estate market--particularly in Manhattan, where landlords have been forced to reduce rental prices with the high vacancy rate. I agree that the restaurant industry needs a shake-up, too--I'm optimistic that NYC will bounce back for the better and look forward to visiting again--maybe later this year? Can't believe it's been over a year since I ate in a restaurant (I live in Berkeley, btw). Cheers and thanks!
